The Liberal Catholic Church - The Young Rite is an international sacramental Church founded on June 6th, 2006 by Bishop Marcus van Alphen, as The Young Rite. The Young Rite is part of the Liberal Catholic Church tradition founded by Bishop James Ingall Wedgwood, the first Presiding Bishop in 1916 and expanded by the 2nd Presiding Bishop Charles Webster Leadbeater some years later.
The Community of Saint George (C.S.G.) is a community of deacons, priests, & bishops under the auspices of The Liberal Catholic Church - The Young Rite. The purpose of the Community of Saint George is to build up a community of priests and clergy and would-be clergy through support, education, and mentoring under the guidance of Saint George. In keeping with the spiritual gifts of The Young Rite the Community of Saint George is less about titles and egos and more about service to humanity through the sacrament of Holy Orders.
The Community of Saint George (a Young Rite jurisdiction) is part religious order and part jurisdiction founded to train, educate, support and sustain clergy-celebrants of all types (deacons, priests, and bishops).
